Exergen Temporal Thermometer-Review and Giveaway

Let me start by saying that this could not have arrived at a better time. It arrived on a Friday. Of course I opened it all up, tested it on the kids, my husband and myself. It worked beautifully and everyone had very normal temps. On Saturday I came down with a fever, a very high one I might add. I never get fevers. It was just over 104. My new Temporal Artery Thermometer that Exergen provided made it very quick and painless for me to take my temperature. Now if I had been in my right frame of mind I would have had my husband video me and how easy it was for me to use even as sick as I was, but I was not in my right frame of mind. So, I will include a video of how easy it is to use on Ryan.

About Exergen:

Exergen Corporation is the recognized world leader in industrial and medical non-invasive temperature technology. From providing temperature sensors for NASA and various industries to creating one of the world’s most popular baby gifts, Exergen creates non-invasive temperature measurement devices providing lower cost, higher accuracy, less invasiveness, and greater reliability than ever previously possible.

What I love about the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer:

  • It is easy and non-evasive.
  • It is very affordable.
  • It is self-disinfecting.
  • I love how accurate it is without having to take a rectal temperature.

Here is our video:

Now, I will take his temperature again in a couple hours to ensure that he is indeed not running a low grade fever. Chances are he is in the normal range, but because of the absolute accuracy of this thermometer it sometimes can read a slightly higher temperature. The thermometer measures core body temperature, which is about 1 degree higher than oral temp and 2 degrees higher than an underarm temp. Core body temperature is the operating temperature in deep structures of your body. Core body temperature is traditionally measured rectally, however the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer provides a much more simple option.

I love that it takes 1000 readings per second and then provides the most accurate reading.
