About Golden Shop:

The *Golden sew cute* Shop is an Etsy shop, founded by Rachel. I have been corresponding with Rachel for a little over a month now and I feel like I’ve known her forever! She is super personable, and knew exactly what I needed for my little girls Birthday Party, even though I didn’t!

Here is a bit from Rachel herself:

I am a work at home mom to one daughter in Los Angeles, CA. I’ve been sewing since middle school, but decided to start sharing my creations with others after making the birthday attire she used for her daughter’s first birthday party.

I am a self proclaimed perfectionist when it comes to my work and love making the perfect piece that will make your child’s party or photos something extra special. I have a degree in Merchandise Marketing, emphasis in Product Development from FIDM, and am a former buyer in the fashion industry so I have the eye for picking out fabulous fabrics and designs.

*golden* shop started after I heard the most dreaded 6 words from my husband in March, 2008: “Time to go back to work”. I cherished my new life staying home with my then 1.5 year old daughter. I couldn’t imagine paying someone to take care of her, to do the work that I was dying to do for free. That night I threw up a shop on Etsy literally in 2 hours with photos of bibs, burpcloths, and ONE party hat I had made for friends. I believe I had about 6 items in my shop, no blog, no logo, no business plan, no real fabric supply, nothing! Just the desire to do ANYTHING to keep from going back to a “real” job (I hate that term!). I had been researching the option of having a shop for a while and the most discouraging info I found online was that it would most likely take up to 6 months for my first sale. Well, 4 days later I had my first sale. And it hasn’t stopped since!

My Experience with Rachel and the *Golden* shop:

My Experience has been AMAZING! I was blog hopping one day, and came across Rachel’s work on another blog. I knew I had to contact this girl because her work was amazing! I went to her blog, and then to her shop and could not stop looking at all of the cute items! From that day on we have been working together, I say that, but really Rachel has done all of the work! Including the decision making. I came into it only know I wanted colorful, and she came out with masterpiece after masterpiece!

The Birthday Party we are having for Olivia will actually be shared with my nephew who has a birthday exactly 1 week before Olivia. So, what I wanted from Rachel was a personalized bib for each Wyatt and Olivia, a Big Bro shirt for my Ryan, a Big Sis shirt for Wyatt’s big sis, and a Happy Birthday Banner that I can use for more Birthdays to come. I didn’t have colors or a theme, I just told her to have fun!

I could go on and on about how much I love Rachel and her work. Honestly, I can not wait to display the banner and the kids sporting their new shirts and bibs at the Birthday Party. The fabric and colors are amazing. Rachel is amazing. Ryan loves his shirt so much that he will not take it off! I’m sure I’m going to need to purchase an additional one so that I don’t have to sneak it off of  him in the middle of the night just to wash it! He is so proud to display that he is the Big Bro. The bib is too precious and after we’re done using it, probably through the summer, it will go into her hope chest.
