We spent part of the recent Mother’s Day at the house of some close friends of ours. They, on Friday, had taken a trip to our local Humane Society to look at the dogs for their son who is turning 13 this week. They lost their oldest dog a couple weeks ago to old age, and their golden retriever, Charlie, has been lonely.

They went in empty handed and walked out with a brand new 8 week old pup. A Schipperke/Border Collie mix. To say that while we over there I didn’t fall in love with this pup would be a lie. He was just the sweetest pup ever.  On the way home from their house my husband went on and on about how we needed to go see his brothers and sisters, we really should rescue one. He is a major dog lover. I himmed and hawed, but yesterday gave in when he said “lets just go look”.  So we looked, he was the last one and there was  no way I could leave him there by himself without any of his brothers and sisters left.

We are now the proud owners of our very own Schipperke/Border Collie mix. We have named him Oscar (after looking through a baby book and much discussion last night). He is the sweetest puppy ever. He loves to snuggle and always wants to be right where we are. I’m crossing my fingers, but we’ve had him almost 24 hours without ONE accident in the house! Even now, while I type he lays curled up at my feet. He is excellent with the children and LOVE running around with Ryan. I couldn’t be happier with him!
