Before Olivia was born I read loads and loads of information on cloth diapering, I was gung ho, but my husband….not so much. So I let it be, we had her and used disposables as we had with Ryan. When Olivia was about 4 months old I became intrigued all over again thinking about all of the money we could save. I talked my husband into it and made my first order of diapers and accessories, fitteds, prefolds, covers, the wet bag and more! What I didn’t realize after that first order is, just how many options I really had. I knew there were different styles, but each company makes them differently and I needed to find something that would be a perfect match for Olivia and I.
That is where Cloth Couture Diapers comes in. I was cloth diaper surfing online and I simply could not resist the fabrics that were pictured on Cloth Couture Diapers. I was crossing my fingers that I would also love this diaper, and I do. I took a shot in the dark and emailed Allison, hoping to set up a review on here for you all of these fabulous diapers. Allison Vaughn, creator and owner of Cloth Couture Diapers, really does a fantastic job at what she does-creating fabulous cloth diapers. She also uses excellent customer service and I heard back from her almost immediately.
We received our fitted diaper beautifully wrapped, including a cloth wipe and a sample of lavender Crunchy Clean detergent. The package smelled fantastic before I even opened it! I am beyond pleased with my new fitted diaper. The fabric on the outside is vibrant in color, soft and flexible. The inner is super soft and absorbent. The prefold that comes included is a snap in which I prefer. The prefold is also the softest most absorbent prefold that I currently own. The fitteds use a snap closure with 4 different size adjustments. I prefer the snaps, especially when it comes to washing them. These are pretty much as trim as using a disposable diaper. We also tried a soaker and love the softness and flexibility just as much. I know I’m going to love these fitteds and soakers for the summer months as they are so much more breathable than previous covers I’ve used.
I am so much more excited about cloth diapering now than I was even 2 weeks ago, thank you to Allison. If you have any questions about cloth diapering Allison has Cloth 101 page where she explains how much money you could potentially save to the variety to how to care for your cloth diaper and more.
