I don’t know how many of you have the plastic turtle to use as a sandbox, but for us it wasn’t cutting it. When Ryan plays in a sandbox it’s like a battlefield, and there is no way his numerous dump trucks, shovels, buckets and more are going to fit in the turtle. Not to mention the special occasion when we’d forget to put the lid on at night and it would rain. You know those things don’t drain right? Yeah, well, needless to say we had to ditch the turtle. Although as it turns out, Ryan still wanted to use his dump trucks, shovel, etc, so that left him digging a hole off to the side of our yard. Not too pretty. Rob took things into his hands and in photos I will show you how it turned out.
Time: 1.5 hrs
Material: $100.00
Ryan (and Olivia’s) reaction and the preservation of our backyard: Priceless

Someone just gave us a hand-me-down Turtle Sandbox and after hearing your stories, I think I will just pass it along to Goodwill! I didn’t realize they don’t drain!
Ryan ought to be happy in that sandbox!
Looks great, Rob!
