Ergo Baby Carrier

headerI’m going to be quite honest here and tell you that I’ve had this page open for a while trying to decide where to start. There are so many things I love about this carrier, I’m even including a video that I’m not even sure does it justice. Ergo sent me a carrier to review, to try out because Olivia+myself=no luck with baby carriers. Until now that is. We had a particular sling that I loved for about 3 months, you know, when she weighed less than 10 lbs. We also have a Mei Tei that I can still use, but needs to be adjusted every 10 minutes and creates more hassle than not. Enter in Ergo Baby Carrier.

largeWe were all outside playing when it arrived, my husband suggested I try it on immediately. After reading the instructions and getting her strapped in for the first time I didn’t believe it. Including instruction it took me less than 10 minutes our first time. We went for a long walk and I did not have to adjust it ONCE. I didn’t have to adjust it the whole time I wore it. I’ve worn my Ergo Carrier at least once a day since that day and my opinion remains the same. I have worn her in the carrier while I’m washing dishes, working out (a workout instructional video for moms wearing their babies), at the grocery store and just doing my general activities around the house or going to the playground. I really wish I had been introduced to this carrier 5 years ago when my son was born and will be buying it for baby gifts for many years to come.

Here is my short video: (be sure to head to their instructional page as their videos are much more detailed.)

The Ergo Baby Carrier has been tested up to 90 lbs but is recommended up to 40 lbs and you can start using it when your child is a newborn using the infant insert for those delicate necks. There is also an assortment of useful accessories you can purchase along with your carrier from front pouches to weather covers, make sure you check them out.

What I love:

  • You can carry your baby in an Ergo Carrier on your front, side or back.
  • The colors and feel of the fabric.
  • The built in hood and zipper pocket.
  • How easy it is to use by myself.
  • I love that when Olivia is attached to me using the Ergo Carrier she snuggles right up to me, it is an amazing bonding experience.
  • The closeness and eye contact that Olivia and I experience by having her face me.
What I don’t love:
  • Honestly? Nothing. I could not think of one thing that I would change. I tried very hard to think of something, but alas, there was nothing.
