What you will need:
2 lbs of ground hamburger or turkey, I chose hamburger
8 large tortilla shells or 16 small tortilla shells
several leaves of lettuce, my favorite is Romaine
2 tomatoes diced
16 oz sour cream
1/2 cup chopped green onion
your favorite salsa or picante
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
sliced jalapenos (optional)
1-2 tsp of Franks hot sauce (optional)
Seasonings:
1 pack of the Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix
1 tbsp of taco seasoning mix, whichever is your favorite
1/2 tbsp of cumin
1 tsp of black pepper
1/2 tbsp garlic salt
1/2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp coriander
First things first- mix up your 16 oz of sour cream with the ranch dip pack. I also added the Franks red hot, this is probably not necessary, but I like that extra kick. Let that chill while you finish prepping.
Now you can pull out your ground turkey or hamburger. Put it in a bowl and mix with the cumin, pepper, garlic salt, chili powder and coriander. I also put a couple more splashes of Franks in there. I will be completely honest and tell you this next part is the least fun. This is where we get to get our hands dirty and mix it all up. I used the large tortilla shells and therefore needed big patties. I used a dinner plate to make the shape, using just under 1/4 lbs of the meat. Form a ball and then flatten into a circle the same size or slightly larger than the shells you chose. Using the dinner plate worked perfect for me.You can form all of your patties now if you wish, but I actually started cooking the first patty and while that was cooking finished cutting vegetables.
I placed my burger on a skillet set to Medium to start browning. I then turned an additional skillet to medium and placed my first tortilla on there to give it just the slightest crisp. You will cook one tortilla at a time for no longer than 5 minutes each. This will ensure that they will remain flexible, with the perfect crispness.
I flip my burger, pull off the first tortilla and place another one on. Place the first tortilla on a plate and smooth a thin coat of your sour cream mixture on. When your burger is complete place that on the bottom tortilla and then sprinkle your desired amount of cheese on top of the burger. I make sure to coat mine. Pull your other tortilla off if you haven’t already and smooth the sour cream mixture on this one as well. Then layer the lettuce on this one. I sprinkled the tomato, green onion and salsa on top of the cheese, and then combined the two halves. I cut it in half with a pizza cutter and voila! Half of one of these was more than enough for me, they are quite filling. One batch fed 3 very hungry boys, myself for two meals with one left over.

Wow, these look really good, and different. I might try them.
Thanks!
YUMMMMMMM!
I want to try this recipe for sure.
So I made these last night for our friends–they were amazing, despite the fact that I missed the part where the seasonings were supposed to go inside the hamburger and not on top, they still turned out well. I also added guacamole. Great recipe!
That looks delicious! I think I will have to try it.
