Introducing the New Celebrity Ambassador for Frigidaire!

Frigidaire has officially announced their new Celebrity Ambassador, Jennifer Garner. Together, Frigidaire and Jennifer Garner are partnering up to make a difference with the “Make Time for CHANGE” (Creating Healthy, Active, and Nurturing Growing-up Environments) campaign.

On November 1st we will all gain one hour with Daylight Savings, so lets think ahead and use that extra time to make a pledge to make a difference in a child’s life. Starting today YOU can make a difference by heading to Frigidaire.com to pledge to make time for a child. Each time a person pledges, Frigidaire will donate $1 to support the CHANGE. In addition, everyone who pledges will be entered to win a new Frigidaire professional double wall oven.

I pledge to make time for children by heading to my sons Kindergarten class to read to the students every week. For more information you can visit Mom Central or Frigidaire. I’d love to hear how you would pledge your time to make a difference in the life of a child.

Come Together With Macy’s and a $20 Gift Card

This fall Macy’s has launched a new campaign, Come Together. This cause is meant to fund raise and gain awareness for those in need. In turn Come Together is aiming to feed 10 million people suffering from hunger. The public is invited to work with Macy’s on this by hosting a special dinner in your home and asking your guests to make a pledge. Macy’s will match each donation dollar to dollar until the goal of 10 million meals is met.

I personally have started planning a dinner in my home. I think it will be a nice way to get all of my friends together this fall and to help those who need it most.

Three Easy Ways to Get Involved:

HOST- Friends and families across the country can host dinner parties from casual to formal, send invitations and manage party details including themes and recipes on www.macys.com/cometogether. In lieu of bringing traditional host gifts, guests are suggested to make a donation to Feeding America.

GIVE – Donate $1 directly at any Macy’s register, one dollar provides dinner for seven.

SHOP- Macy’s customers can shop for the cause and get special savings in-store on October 17, when Macy’s hosts a national Shop For A Cause day. A portion of the $5 in-store ticket sales will benefit Feeding America.

Additionally, Macy’s and M80 have made it possible to give one Through Hazel Eyes reader a chance to win a $20.00 Gift Card to Macy’s. To enter tell me in the comments when the last time was that you had your closest friends and/or family together for dinner.

Ode to Boogie Wipes

A couple months ago, during a warm summer month, I won (through twitter) an assortment of Boogie Wipes right from the fine Boogie Wipes people. I took them out of the box and placed them on Olivia’s dresser knowing the time would come that I would be able to use them out, but thankful it was not quite time. Well, my friends, the time has come. Olivia gets the runniest of noses when she is cutting teeth. She just so happens to have 4 molars making their way through, causing the inner bear to come out of my precious 15 month old. Along with that came the unavoidable runny nose. Thankfully I remembered the Boogie Wipes on the dresser. Not only will Olivia let me wipe her nose now, but they help! They really really help, and it doesn’t matter how many times I have to wipe her nose, she doesn’t complain. In fact, she seems to really like getting her nose wiped. Not only that, but there is no raw-ness, or redness of the skin because these babies are gentle. So, THANK YOU Boogie Wipes!

Here she is with a dry nose and do I dare say a happy face? She’s never happy when she’s teething!

Bum Genius Cloth Diapers by Cotton Babies

I have another fantastic Cloth Diaper to share with you today. I know we’ve been through several and I do not have a favorite over another, more just a particular favorite detail that each diaper carries to make it unique in it’s own way.

I was able to try a Bum Genius One Size Cloth Diaper, courtesy of Cotton Babies. Aside from the fresh adorable colors they have to choose from , the money you can save by using one size diapers is incredible. I was skeptical about a diaper that would fit a baby essentially from the time he/she is born until they are potty trained. This diaper fits babies 7-35 lbs. I am skeptical no more. The diaper arrived in the smallest fashion, suitable for the 7 lb baby. For a moment I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with this teeny diaper and my 20 lb baby. Then I started unsnapping, and sure enough there is a perfect size for her! I couldn’t resist trying the teeny size on one of her life size (newborn) baby dolls though and while I know that’s not a completely accurate way to judge, that too fit. She has one more snap size to grow, so I’m confident that she will be wearing this until she is potty trained.
