I recently had the opportunity to sit in on a conference call with Dave Lettero from Bonneville Environmental Foundation, otherwise known as BEF. During the conference call I learned a lot about renewable energy while he touched on small things that we can do every day to help shrink our carbon footprint.BEF has generously offered one Through Hazel Eyes reader the chance to win their very own Solar Car Kit to put together with their family! I promise you will love this activity!

Do you have a child that is toddler to school age who wakes up too early or goes to bed too late? Do you know somebody with a child who matches this criteria? Maybe you just need a really awesome clock for a special kid in your life? I have the answer to all of your clock needs when it comes to children. I kid you not, My Tot Clock has changed our quality of life around here.We have his bed time and wake time automatically set for when we would prefer him to go to sleep at 8:30 turning the face a darker blue and his wake time at 7:30 when the face turns yellow. The discipline button is set for 5 minutes, which is the duration of Ryan’s timeouts and the face is red during this time. Ryan does not nap anymore, however we do “quiet time” in the afternoons for 2 hours and at this time the clock is light blue.
My Tot Clock has offered one lucky Through Hazel Eyes reader the chance to win their very own My Tot Clock at a value of 49.95.

It is no secret that I am slowly but surely coming around and turning a little more “green” every day. From reusable grocery bags to organic clothing and many items in between. It’s fulfilling and just feels so fresh, to be quite honest.
Not too long ago I came across a perfect match for all of my green shopping needs, Gorgeous and Green. Lenka Howrys is the founder of this company and she believes in everything that I look up to and try my hardest to accomplish as well. Not to mention she also loves shopping! Just check out her about me page, she is Gorgeous and Green. I love that you can also purchase items for your children here, as I believe it is important to teach my children that it is important to be eco-friendly.
Ryan and I had the opportunity to review the Green Toys Dump Truck. I could not be more pleased with this product. This truck is made of 100% recycled plastic milk containers. Ryan’s take-he loves it, he can put his guys in through the windows to drive around while they haul animals or any other various items in the back. The dump truck cleans up easily and nicely. He likes to take it outside during the day and bring it in a at night. The tires are nice and big for “all terrain”. The back end tilts completely making it very much like a life like dump truck.
This organic dump truck is definitely mom approved. I love that it is plastic and not metal as some opposing dump trucks are. The edges are not sharp, as another one of his has become, and I do not have to worry about rust in the future. It is very lightweight so even my 1 year old can push it and carry it around. Don’t let it being light weight fool you though! It is still a pretty decent size, when it comes to dump trucks the bigger the better right? The colors are nice, and over all we are quite pleased.
Gorgeous and Green goes way beyond children’s toys though. There are many products they carry that I have my eye on! You can find jewelry, pet items, household items and much much more. I really want one of these water bottles and these bowls are too cool.
To Buy:
Visit Gorgeous and Green. The Dump Truck we reviewed retails at $40.00. Gorgeous and Green offers monthly specials, and free shipping on purchases equaling over $100.
To Win:
Gorgeous and Green is offering 1 Through Hazel Eyes reader the chance to win a $50.00 gift certificate to spend in their store. To enter, visit Gorgeous and Green, then come back here and in the comments tell me what you would spend your gift certificate on.
