Olivia is 9 months old now! Well she was on Sunday, or at least that’s what I’m going with, it would have been on the 29th of February, but since there wasn’t a 29th…you get my drift!
She is 9 months and has officially crossed over to the dark side, okay just kidding (kind of). She started crawling a couple weeks ago, and hasn’t really ventured to rooms other than the one I’m in, nor has she wanted to get into anything really except her toys. I really thought hey, I deserve a break, by the time Ryan was this age he was practically running! The day, or around the day she would have turned 9 months it all changed. She is into everything!
With that being said, I really am happy and proud of her for being a curious little girl. I love watching her and Ryan learn something new every day. She is an absolute delight. Always happy, sleeps well, eats well and she’s pretty laid back. She loves her brother more than anything in the world I think. She says up, with her hands in the air, and mama and dada. We both get called both names though, so I don’t think she’s figured out who’s who yet.

Recently my good friend Amanda sold me her Canon Rebel Xti, I could not be more thankful. It arrived today and I immediately put everything where it was supposed to go and started shooting! I can promise that this camera could not be in better hands! I can only hope to be half as good of a photographer as Amanda is, if you haven’t seen her photos you need to check them out on her blog (I am hoping the camera came with her photo taking karma). I am so excited for my new venture into DSLR photography. Here’s to the beginning!

I’m going to start posting one of my favorite things weekly. Sometimes it will have to do with children, sometimes myself, sometimes my husband! I just want to share all the different products I’ve come across along the way that I love! We’re going to kick off the first “My Favorite Things” with a giveaway. This will not always be the case
My first favorite thing has to do with me. I love styling my hair, something that makes this easier is my straightening iron. I’m not giving away the same one I own, but I can tell you that I have used the Cricket, and love it. I own a CHI iron and love it. I’ve also used FHI irons and love them. We use all 3 in our salon.

I love my iron, because when I’m on the go, as long as my hair is dry I can iron just the top few sections and make it look smooth for a quick do. I can also use it for a night out and put more work into it when I have more time. Yes, the latter looks a little better, but I like that I can give my hair a quick fix as well. All of the irons I use are ceramic, to me this is a necessity to keep your hair in good condition.

Another necessity is a serum or a protective barrier of some sorts to seal your hair follicle. I will be including in the giveaway one of my favorite barriers, Mop Shaping Serum, the ultimate foundation product. I’ve found it works best when put in wet hair before blow drying or air drying. Always remember that a little big goes a long way.

Hop into Spring at An Ordinary Life

Kristin at An Ordinary Life is holding a contest for a FreeAgent Go. What an awesome opportunity! I don’t know about you, but I definitely could use one of these with the amount of pictures I take. I’m always afraid of our computer crashing and would love the reassurance a FreeAgent Go could bring me! For your chance visit An Ordinary Life!

I had a hard time choosing just one, because once I got looking I realized just how much I missed spring. I guess that’s not a good reason, but they just brought back a small taste of some nice weather for me!

Small Talk Six!

This weeks topic is 6 things that make you smile.

1. Hearing my children gut laugh, I love the true all the way down to the gut laughs they dispel.
2. Watching my husband with the kids. He is such a good daddy and they are always so happy to see him and play with him. It melts my heart!
3. Talking to my best friend who lives 4 hours away from me now.
4. When both of the kids go down for a nap at the same time.
5. Watching my children learn something new each and every day.
6. The weekend, I love love love the weekends! My husband works long hours during the week, so we are all so excited for family time by the time the weekend hits.
