WINNER of the Oreck Platinum Pilot 360

3 Comments 16 June 2010

I’m betting there are a good bunch of you waiting for the big announcement. I chose to do a separate post, instead of announcing within the post because for one, I felt like it and two, to just really thank you all who entered by voting, subscribing, tweeting, following and so on. This Giveaway really has been a tremendous hit, and I’d also like to thank Oreck again for sponsoring.

Without further ado….First let me tell you, my screen shotter thingy isn’t working. These are two genuine photos taken personally by me to show how I chose the winner and to make sure the winner left the necessary comments. CONGRATULATIONS comment #483, Jeanette Huston!

You Can Make This! 2 Bundles for a giveaway!

ycmtIt was a coincidence that this giveaway opportunity from You Can Make This for you all was presented to me. I’ve been on a sewing kick, I was on a knitting kick, but really that all belongs in another post. What’s cool though is that you can make some pretty killer gifts for your loved ones all on your own! In the long run that can sometimes save you money, actually I’m sure it does every time unless your me. (I have a problem with buying cute fabric that I haven’t figured out what to make with it yet…) Besides that, there is nothing more precious to me than the gifts I have received that are handmade. You know how much love, work and effort was put into it.

You can find a free download for some really cute Gift Tags to add to those hand made or not hand made gifts this year. Each of these tags coordinates with ideas found as part of the DIY Gift Giving Series videos that can be found at the You Can Make This Blog , as well as designs and patterns found at Swak Embroidery and You Can Make This.

Before we get on to the giveaway offered here I want to mention that you also have the chance to win hundreds of dollars worth of gift certificates just for watching the videos that are a party of the DIY Gift Giving series and then in return answering a question on their Blog.

Gift Idea-My Storytime Friends and a Giveaway CLOSED

If there was one trait of mine that I could wish to instill upon my children it would be my love for reading. For as long as I can remember I have held a love for books. From my parents reading to my brother and I before bed to when I learned to read and acquired a love for Nancy Drew novels. Now I read about 1 novel a week, sometimes more sometimes less. When I found out I was pregnant with my son my husband read him the novel version of Alice in Wonderland, while he was in my womb. From the day he was born  (and before) we’ve read to him every single night and it has of course continued on with our daughter. So far they both adore listening to stories and Ryan is even showing the beginning signs of reading himself! It just makes my heart swell._MG_9268

When we received the opportunity to review My Storytime Friends I knew this would be perfect for both of them. I may be purchasing another bear, but the story they can read and listen to together.  The Teddy Bear and first hardcover storybook come packaged in a nice looking box with a handle. Perfect for wrapping and putting under the tree! The first story is a sweet story about a bear named Brady with a very happy ending. I don’t want to tell you about the story and ruin it for you all, but I will tell you that it teaches an important lesson, keeps the children interested in not only the story line but the full color illustrations as well. We received the Honey Bear, there are 5 additional colors to choose from, and he/she is soft, plush and perfect for snuggling. Your child can name he/she after one of their favorite characters or choose a name of their own! You can purchase addtional clothing for your bear such as play time clothing, dress up, sleepwear and more.

_MG_9270I’m sure I have caught your interest now, so I’ll tell you how it works. The member package cost is 39.95. Included in this: The first month you receive the box I talked about with your Teddy Bear and first hardcover story. After you receive these items you will find a code to register online with. You then have full access to the Library, the Post Office (where your child can send and receive messages to their bear friends) and more. Ryan and Olivia loved the Library and enjoyed listening to the next story via an online flip book while I prepared dinner. There is also an activity area, Ryan’s favorite activity is using the Flash Cards. You can also receive a hardcover book each month for the cost of shipping or read them online free for a lifetime through your choice of format. I consider this a gift that keeps on giving.

The Giveaway:

My Storytime friends has generously offered one Through Hazel Eyes reader an Interactive Toy and Storybook set. First entry (Required)-Please visit My Storytime Friends and tell me which bear you would choose. This contest will end on December 15th ensuring you will receive your gift set in time for Christmas.

Additional Entries:

-Subscribe via reader or email

-Follow me on google friends connect

-Follow me on twitter and tweet about this (2 tweets/day)

-Blog about this giveaway and link to this post (5 entries)

This set has been provided to me from My Storytime Friends, through being a reveiwer for the Mom Bloggers Club. However, the words and opinions remain my own.

Thank you everyone for entering! Congratulations comment #32!

Crayola-Lights, Camera, Color Giveaway

180 Comments 02 December 2009

_MG_8151You know, I don’t know about you, but I’ve tried to buy a different brand of crayon or been gifted a different brand of crayon and they’re just never the same. I came to the conclusion, even before having children, that no other brand is cut out to do the job except Crayola. The other brands are either too waxy or not just the right color or break easy, you name it.

Crayola has now launched Lights, Camera, Color – and application available on Crayola.com where your child can upload their favorite pictures, turn them into coloring pages and color them in! See:

Untitled-1My son who is 5 is a coloring fanatic. This is somewhat new, up until the last year or so he could care less if kept crayons or pencils in the house, he preferred painting. Lots and lots of finger painting. Don’t get me wrong, I encourage my child’s creativity, but crayons are so much easier to clean up! He was beyond thrilled to come home from school and find the Crayola Crayon Tower sitting on the dining room table. We went right to work on uploading and printing our picture. This was easy enough that with a little direction my 5 year old could accomplish the uploading and printing while I finished loading the dishwasher nearby.

_MG_8145

Crayola is including on specially marked crayon boxes a code that allows you unlimited prints for 6 months. You can find the codes on these boxes: 48, 64, 96, 120-ct. as well as the 150-ct. Crayon Tower. I also have a special one day pass code to share with as well PRT77F3S to give it a try before you buy.

That’s not all though, Crayola is also offering a Through Hazel Eyes reader their very own Crayola Crayon Tower!

Required Entry:

Tell me your favorite Crayola product.

Additional Entries:

-Subscribe to my blog via email or reader

-Follow me

-Follow me on twitter and tweet about the giveaway (entry for each tweet, up to 3 per day)

-Become a fan of Crayola on Facebook and receive 5 entries.

*Crayola and My Blog Spark provided me with the product for this post, however the words remain my own.

** Giveaway ends December 11 and I will announce the winner here.

Congratulations Ann, comment #2!
